My Story

In case you didn’t know already, I absolutely love trading the stock market, personal finance, investing, surfing and traveling! Here is a little background on how I got started.

Now for my story, which led me to create this website. After college I came to find out that I had over $100k in student loans (~$130k) due to not understanding the consequences of continuing to accept the “free money” offered by my college, and finding out that my mother had forged my name on a student loan that ballooned due to negative compound interest. Long story short, she used that money to finance a condo for my brother and I's first 2 years of college, where I was completely oblivious of how the bills were being paid. The real estate market crashed in 2008/2009 and my mom lost the condo, not knowing that my brother and I were on the hook for the money used to finance it until 2014.

After struggling for a year after college to cope with the realization of my financial situation, I decided to not be a victim and overcome the challenges that I was dealt. I started to consume as many books and podcasts as I could covering personal finance, investing, trading stocks, and transforming my mindset. Within 4 years from 2017 to 2021, I not only paid off all of my student loan debt. But my net worth went from -$130k+ to multiple positive six figures and continues to rapidly increase since I am now saving and investing over 40% of my income. I have no debt except a car payment and my income continues to increase 10%+ per year. With this trajectory, I will be able to retire, or simply do what I want like spend more time with my family within 10 years (or less).

I constantly work to improve my swing trading skills and now I am trading under the guidance of the best guys out there, Ben and Shake from Trading Experts. All while I continue to invest weekly in low-cost index funds like the SPY using M1 Finance.

With all of the knowledge I gained about trading, personal finance and investing, I was able to pay off over $100,000 in student loan debt within 3-4 years and begin building my net worth in the right direction.

After accomplishing what I have, I decided that I need to give back to the world by helping others. So I decided to start this website to share my knowledge and experience through all the hard lessons I have learned. My goal is to help people do more of what they love to do in life, especially if that is traveling, surfing (really any type of board sport), spending more time with family, or impacting other’s lives through their own creativity and purpose.
